Some of you attended this year's Family & Friends Golf Outing, and some of you wanted to, but were unable. But, as a quick recap: I think everyone had a great time!
Andy Kovacs (Chris Panatier's friend) had the lowest score with an 83. Steve Figari (Timmy O'Neill's friend) came in second with an 87, and tied for third was Mike Jordan (Butch & Eileen's friend) and Matthew Frost (the top-showing "family" member) with a 90. Marion Jordan, Mike's wife, had the best ladies' score with a 99. And taking top honors with the top score of 134 was Susan Frost (claiming the "most honest golfer" award), for a second consecutive time.
The longest drive for the men was walloped by Andy Kovacs, and the longest drive for the ladies' was hit by Susan Frost. Closest to the pin on the par-3 was put up by Chris Frost.
The weather held out: it was cloudy and breezy, but the temperature was fine, and shorts and short sleeves worked.
We gave out awards and prizes, and had a raffle drawing for more prizes and cash. Prizes were provided by Phillips Oil (through now retiring executive Mike Panatier),
Ford Motor Company (though now retired executive Mike Jordan),
Frito-Lay (through their executive Russ Wilkinson) and Huntington Chevrolet
(through their general manager Andy Kovacs).
We also have a number of improvements slated for next year's tournament, starting first with better prior planning! The tournament will be held on Friday, September 5th, the Friday after Labor Day. The time is 10:00am for the first Tee-Time, and cocktails, dinner and festivities will follow.
I'll keep everyone up-to-date from time-to-time over the next year about next year's Outing. Let me know if there is anyone you would like to bring next year; the more the merrier!
